Gaddafi: Shot or not?
By Michelle Malkin • February 24, 2011 03:17 PM
Global rumors that Libyan dictator Moammar Gaddafi has been shot roiled the markets this afternoon.
Oil prices tumbled $2 a barrel.
The White House says it has “no reason to believe” Gaddafi is dead.
But given how CIA director Leon Panetta gets his intelligence — quick, get him the TV remote control! — there’s no reason to believe the White House knows anything more than you or I do at this point.
Stay tuned…"

Is this rumor the reason the stock market went up Friday, after tumbling for a few days?
Gee, 13 Of The 14 WI State Senators – Union Puppets
For Wisconsin’s Democratic state senators, it’s simply bad business to offend labor unions.
Thirteen of the fourteen have received generous contributions from unions over the years; their cumulative donations range from $5,750 to $113,603. And anything less than, well, fleeing the state in order to prevent Gov. Scott Walker’s public-union-busting bill from passing could threaten those vital cash flows.
Rand Paul wants a constitutional convention convened! This is scary!
“The Cincinnati (OH) Enquirer and the Louisville (KY) Courier-Journal reported on January 20 that newly elected U.S. Senator from Kentucky Rand Paul supports calling an Article V convention to pass a Balanced Budget Amendment (BBA)”
This is very, very scary and I never thought Rand Paul would play into the hands of those who are looking to “transform America”.
In regard to calling a constitutional convention, I believe Rand Paul ought to listen to the wisdom and warnings of James Madision. He writes:
“You wish to know my sentiments on the project of another general Convention as suggested by New York. I shall give them to you with great frankness …….3. If a General Convention were to take place for the avowed and sole purpose of revising the Constitution, it would naturally consider itself as having a greater latitude than the Congress appointed to administer and support as well as to amend the system; it would consequently give greater agitation to the public mind;an election into it would be courted by the most violent partizans on both sides; it wd. probably consist of the most heterogeneous characters; would be the very focus of that flame which has already too much heated men of all parties; would no doubt contain individuals of insidious views, who under the mask of seeking alterations popular in some parts but inadmissible in other parts of the Union might have a dangerous opportunity of sapping the very foundationsof the fabric. Under all these circumstances it seems scarcely to be presumeable that the deliberations of the body could be conducted in harmony, or terminate in the general good. Having witnessed the difficulties and dangers experienced by the first Convention which assembled under every propitious circumstance, I should tremble for the result of a Second, meeting in the present temper of America, and under all the disadvantages I have mentioned. ….I am Dr. Sir, Yours Js. Madison Jr” ___See Letters of Delegates to Congress: Volume 25 March 1, 1788-December 31, 1789, James Madison to George Turberville
And who would attend a convention if one were to be called today? Could Madison be right? Let us take a look at what happened in New Hampshire in 1984 when a state convention was called.
During the 1984 New Hampshire Convention, which was challenged in U.S. District Court, of the 400 delegates 64 were attorneys, eight were judges, four were state senators, and 113 were state representatives and two legislative lobbyists….the very snakes who are now causing our misery!
The suit went on to charge
“there has been over 175 lawyers, judges, senators and representatives out of the total of 400 constitutional convention (delegates) elected, (who) are already holding a pubic office both in the legislature and judicial branches in violation of the separation of powers doctrine, and this count does not include wives and immediate family members who have been elected on their behalf.”
And with regard to Rand Paul co-sponsoring Sen. Mike Lee’s balanced budget amendment, which I could not find at THOMAS, I suspect it’s the same type of fake balanced budget amendment which I detailed IN THIS THREAD
Now, here is what Rand Paul ought to be promoting which would return us to our Constitution‘s original tax plan which allowed for an apportioned tax to balance the budget if imposts, duties and miscellaneous excise taxes were found insufficient:
Proposing a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution of the United States.
“SECTION 1. The Sixteenth Amendment is hereby repealed and Congress is henceforth forbidden to lay “any“ tax or burden calculated from profits, gains, interest, salaries, wages, tips, inheritances or any other lawfully realized money
NOTE: these words would return us to our founding father’s ORIGINAL TAX PLAN as they intended it to operate! These words would also remove the existing chains of taxation which Congress now uses to enslave America‘s businesses, its industrial and manufacturing base, and they would end the slavish tax which now confiscates the bread which working people have earned!
"SECTION 2. Congress ought not raise money by borrowing, but when the money arising from imposts duties and excise taxes are insufficient to meet the public exigencies, and Congress has raised money by borrowing during the course of a fiscal year, Congress shall then lay a direct tax at the beginning of the next fiscal year for an amount sufficient to extinguish the preceding fiscal year’s deficit, and apply the revenue so raised to extinguishing said deficit."
NOTE: Congress is to raise its primary revenue from imposts and duties, [taxes at our water’s edge], and may also lay miscellaneous internal excise taxes on specifically chosen articles of consumption. But if Congress spends more than is brought in from imposts, duties and miscellaneous excise taxes during the course of a fiscal year, then, and only then, is the apportioned tax to be laid.
"SECTION 3. When Congress is required to lay a direct tax in accordance with Section 1 of this Article, the Secretary of the United States Treasury shall, in a timely manner, calculate each State’s apportioned share of the total sum being raised by dividing its total population size by the total population of the united states and multiplying that figure by the total being raised by Congress, and then provide the various State Congressional Delegations with a Bill notifying their State’s Executive and Legislature of its share of the total tax being collected and a final date by which said tax shall be paid into the United States Treasury."
NOTE: our founder’s fair share formula to extinguish a deficit would be:
States’ population
—————————- X SUM TO BE RAISED = STATE’S SHARE
Total U.S. Population
This fair share formula is to insure that the people of those states who contribute the lion’s share of the tax are guaranteed a representation in Congress proportionately equal to contribution, i.e., representation with proportional obligation an idea which our progressives hate with a passion!
"SECTION 4. Each State shall be free to assume and pay its quota of the direct tax into the United States Treasury by a final date set by Congress, but if any State shall refuse or neglect to pay its quota, then Congress shall send forth its officers to assess and levy such State’s proportion against the real property within the State with interest thereon at the rate of ((?)) per cent per annum, and against the individual owners of the taxable property. Provision shall be made for a 15% discount for those States paying their share by ((?))of the fiscal year in which the tax is laid, and a 10% discount for States paying by the final date set by Congress, such discount being to defray the States’ cost of collection."
NOTE: This section respects the Tenth Amendment and allows each state to raise its share in its own chosen way in a time period set by Congress, but also allows the federal government to enter a state and collect the tax if a state is delinquent in meeting its obligation.
I hope Rand Paul comes to his senses! And, the problem may be nothing more than him having a mole in his office advising him!
Regards,
JWK
“The proportion of taxes are fixed by the number of inhabitants, and not regulated by the extent of the territory, or fertility of soil 3 Elliot‘s, 243, “Each state will know, from its population, its proportion of any general tax” 3 Elliot‘s, 244
The Left’s Hero Margaret Sanger, had a dream, -> Klan-ned Parent-Hood.
Margaret Sanger, the creator of Planned Parenthood, was a true regressive "Progressive", with backward racist thoughts of getting rid of groups of people she deemed unfit.

Those on the Left helped her accomplish some of her goal by making it look like having an abortion was some kind of noble quest for freedom, "the Woman’s Right to Choose" -> to terminate her own baby’s life. But isn’t that the way of the Left, to couch the violation of Human Rights in some kind of excuse that pretends to be noble?
Just like with Black Slavery, Conservative Christians have had to step up to stop Abortion, and other the atrocities committed by the Left.

Oh, To Be a Teacher in Wisconsin
An interesting article in the Wall Street Journal. Very informative on the cost of benefits teachers receive.
The showdown in Wisconsin over fringe benefits for public employees boils down to one number: 74.2. That’s how many cents the public pays Milwaukee public-school teachers and other employees for retirement and health benefits for every dollar they receive in salary. The corresponding rate for employees of private firms is 24.3 cents. |
The numbers are unpacked in the article, and they are eye opening.
