Breaking: Wis Assembly OK’s bill stripping public workers of collective bargaining

February 25, 2011 By Dan

Wisconsin Assembly Passes Anti-Union Bill
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011…es-anti-union/

Quote:

MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Assembly early Friday passed a bill that would strip most public workers of their collective bargaining rights — the first significant action on the new Republican governor’s plan.

Quote:

The Assembly vote sends the bill on to the state Senate, where minority Democrats have been missing for a week. No one knows when — or if — they’ll return from their hideout in Illinois.

AWOL coward leftists take note. :)) :))

Change you can believe in 2…Info about what is in the healthcare bill

February 25, 2011 By Dan

Some info concerning the Obama Healthcare Bill that you may be unaware of…This is a disgrace…talk about centralized control and intrusion. Real-Time access to your bank account for crying out loud. No one in their right mind can condone this crap.

I cannot wait to vote these liberals out. Can "normal" democrats take back their party PLEASE.

This is why they should ALL BE REQUIRED to read a bill before passing it.

THIS IS THE 2ND OFFICIAL WHO HAS OUTLINED THESE PARTS OF THE CARE BILL
Judge Kithil of Marble Falls , TX – HB3200 highlighted pages most egregious
Please read this…….. especially the reference to pages 58 & 59

JUDGE KITHIL wrote:

** Page 50/section 152: The bill will provide insurance to all non-U.S. residents, even if they are here illegally.
** Page 58 and 59: The government will have real-time access to an individual’s bank account and will have the authority to make electronic fund transfers from those accounts.
** Page 65/section 164: The plan will be subsidized (by the government) for all union members, union retirees and for community organizations (such as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now – ACORN).
** Page 203/line 14-15: The tax imposed under this section will not be treated as a tax. (How could anybody in their right mind come up with that?)
** Page 241 and 253: Doctors will all be paid the same regardless of specialty, and the government will set all doctors’ fees.
** Page 272. section 1145: Cancer hospital will ration care according to the patient’s age.
** Page 317 and 321: The government will impose a prohibition on hospital expansion; however, communities may petition for an exception.
** Page 425, line 4-12: The government mandates advance-care planning consultations. Those on Social Security will be required to attend an "end-of-life planning" seminar every five years. (Death counseling..)
** Page 429, line 13-25: The government will specify which doctors can write an end-of-life order.
HAD ENOUGH???? Judge Kithil then goes on:
"Finally, it is specifically stated that this bill will not apply to members of Congress. Members of Congress are already exempt from the Social Security system, and have a well-funded private plan that covers their retirement needs. If they were on our Social Security plan, I believe they would find a very quick ‘fix’ to make the plan financially sound for their future."
Honorable David Kithil
Marble Falls, Texas

Obama tells DOJ don’t defend statute…

February 25, 2011 By Dan

President Obama unilaterally declared the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) unconstitutional, instructing the Department of Justice not to defend the statute in court. DOMA defines marriage as between a man and a woman. It also gives states the right to decide whether to recognize a same-sex marriage from another state.

The Constitution specifically provides that the President “shall take care that the Laws be faithfully executed” … and this includes defending those laws in court. The President and his Department of Justice have an obligation to defend and enforce existing laws — even laws they don’t like.

One of the problems with this: The President doesn’t get to decide what laws are constitutional in our system of government.

The idea that the President of the United States can order the Department of Justice not to defend a law, duly passed by Congress and signed into law by a former President, then-President Clinton, should send shock-waves through anyone who is concerned with civil rights and civil liberties.

The President isn’t a king. He doesn’t get to make decrees. He is the chief executive with the responsibility to enforce existing laws – even laws he may not like.

The Obama Administration’s action’s leads one to wonder if they want us to live in a constitutional republic or a monarchy?

I’m beginning to believe some on the left revel in everyone’s misery

February 25, 2011 By Dan

I know there are people here old enough to remember the "misery index" under Jimmy Carter.

It looks like we are going to have the "misery index" on steroids thanks to years of liberalism, and Obama being in office.

Obama even admitted during the campaign that "spreading the wealth" was the best for everyone.

As one of my heros said:

"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery."

That’s a quote by Winston Churchill. I completely agree.

Unfortunately, we have many Dems in government today who believe the exact opposite.

Is this what passes for discourse today?

February 25, 2011 By Dan

I see people getting positively rabid about unions, yet know little about them. I see people foaming at the mouth at what they perceive as the Obama’s ‘excessive’ perks, while ignoring that the office has not exactly been penurious in the past. I see so much of what could be credibly called just plain hypocrisy, yet where is the call for ‘civility’?

I know that civility is more or less BS, that the history of politics has been worse in the past than now, but… if one thinks that it is called for, then it needs to either be applied across the board, or not at all.

Why is this accepted? Why is it that one side doing what the other is excoriated for acceptable?

I mean, I know, but it is sad to say the least how many simply ignore the issue, so that they can try to make points off some issue or another, blindly following the lead given, making a bad situation worse, all in the name of partisan politics.

Let me be clear, I am a moderate conservative, but it is getting embarrassing, with come of the literal crap that some are spewing, venting their spleen with some pretty substandard logic, presenting themselves as some sort of real ‘conservative viewpoint’.

So often misquoted and misunderstood, Ralph Waldo Emerson in "Self-Reliance", wrote that "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds." Consistency is not, but that is so often overlooked in the rush to try to castigate others, while making oneself look foolish in the process.

To be consistent requires that we look less at party than principle, and that seems to be anathema nowadays. Neither party seems to be able to toe the line of doing what they profess, yet each is given pardon after pardon by voters, assuming that they even notice the discrepancies.

"Every decent man is ashamed of the government he lives under." – H.L Mencken

Democrat or Republican, this still applies today…

Over 100 US soldiers killed, only to give the valley back to the Taliban

February 25, 2011 By Dan

Remember when the military asked for 40,000 troops and got 30,000 from the President. Well the consiquences of that decision have come home to roost. The US is withdrawing forces from the Pech Valley, where over 100 American service members have been killed in fighting because they don’t have sufficient forces to decisively defeat the Taliban in this valley in Eastern Afganistan. They have already pulled out of two other nearby areas also, again because of insufficient forces. They will be leaving the woefully inept Afgan Army in the valley, which means in short order the Taliban will be crowing about how the drove the foreign military out of the area. It will also ceed control of a large chunk of ground as a safe haven to launch attacks from inside Afganistan. this area will also be a safe haven to elements in Pakistan, should Pakistani forces move forcefully against foreign elements inside their tribal regions just across the border.
