Going "Green" would be wasteful and toxic.

Posted in: Blog, Buddy Martin, Show News by admin on April 30, 2011

Right now, when a barrel of oil is drilled and refined, every last drop is used. Only a percentage of it goes to fuel. IN OTHER WORDS… fuel is only ONE of MANY bi-products of the oil refining process. Waxes, tars, chemical of all types are extracted and used in products that we use every single day.

There are virtually no waste byproducts. None, nada, nill.

I bring this up because the left and the insane greenies will cry all day about our dependance on foreign oil, but they only focus on transportation fuel usage.

Even if we could reduce our transportation fuel usage by say… 20%, that would not necessarily reduce our dependance on foreign oil. We would still need the other by-products of oil to make computers, and lightweight polymer body panels and battery cases for our electric vehicles. In fact, the demand for those bi-products might even increase.

And what if a magic wand could be waived and all fuel burning engines ceased to be needed anymore? Then we would have the matter of disposing of the bi-product we once used as fuel.

Oil is and will remain the most cost effective energy source for a long, long time.

There will not be a viable alternative to drilling for oil for another 200 years at least, IMO.
