Are we truly safer? At what expense? Is it worth losing many liberties?
Haven’t we aided and comforted our enemies committing treason as our foreign policy, rather than destroy them and spoil their goods, which has been the goal of war since the history of man?
Has US policy makers even considered the Constitution in dealing with our enemies? What are the Constitutional solutions?
One cannot ignore, removing the media propaganda, that our foreign policy is treason.
From Iraq to Afghanistan to Mexico to Libya, our Government has poured upon our enemies billions of our dollars in aid, training for their security, rebuilding of their infrastructures, fight their wars for them, liberated them, provide them democratic elections, not to mention the blood of our soldiers in an effort to "change their hearts and minds", none of which is a power given to them by the people, none of which is listed as the purpose of our military.
Instead the Constitution is clear in Art I sec 8 The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfareof the United States;but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;
Is there no other way to deal with loosely organized barbarians that attack us?
Thinking on this, I recalled a story about a construction worker from Greeley, Colorado who visited Pakistan and Afghanistan several times from 2002-2011 with the goal to hunt down Osama bin Laden to bring him to justice for his part in the attacks against America.
Only two weeks later, Osama was killed by a small navy special ops force.
Faulkner as of yet has been unsuccessful in receiving even some of the 25 million dollar bounty placed on bin Laden’s head.
This begs many questions.
Why put a bounty out on someone with no intent to fulfill it?
Osama bin Laden was found to be living among Pakistani military. Could it be that the Pakistani government, knowing that many would seek the bounty on bin Laden, protected him from bounty hunters, because they were currently receiving 2 billion $ a year from the US for cooperation? That’s a tough one…a one time bounty of 25 million, OR 2 BILLION a year…hmm.
Did Faulkner’s pursuit lead to bin Laden’s whereabouts? How in the world did the US NOT know his whereabouts? Did Faulkner merely force their card?
What I’m getting at is that the trillions of taxpayer dollars, 10 years of military aid missions, only benefit the govt, not us.
The bounties (modern day orders of marque and reprisal) along with targeted special ops missions are more than enough to take down our enemies where ever they may be.
As far as citizens such as Nadal Hassan, and even the 911 attacks go, there is one solution.
Return Liberty to the people, specifically Amendment #2
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
It is because we have allowed infringement of our rights that we are susceptible to attack. Gun free zones have given criminals an ideal scenario to take out the innocent by announcing that we refuse to defend and arm ourselves.
We have allowed our public servants to strip us of our liberties, taking our money to do it, and have punished us for the acts of those with ill intentions.
The solutions are not costly, keep us free, are Constitutional and deter those who would attack us. All things that our "leaders" will not do. There’s no money, power or prestige in it for them.
